This stunning four-seater can do 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds. He also said the new Roadster would go from 0 to 100 mph in 4.2 seconds and will clear the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds. However, Musk said he wouldn’t mention the top speed, but he gave a clue to the audience that it would be above “250 mph.” The Roadster would be integrated with a 200kwh battery pack and would have a 620-mile range per charge, or over 1,000 kilometers. That would be like driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and back, without recharging.
He said riding in traditional cars would be like driving “a steam engine with a side of quiche”. The new Roadster becomes available in 2020 which would be “the fastest production car ever” made.
